PM seeks long lasting solution of Karachi violence ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that they want long lasting solution of Karachi violence. He directed Speaker National Assembly to constitute a committee in this regard.

Addressing a convention being held to celebrate Independence Day, the prime minister said that no leader could resolve individually the problems facing our country.

Gilani while praising the sacrifices rendered by the Pak armed forces said that the whole nation was united against terrorism.

He said that women have been given their rights and they were playing a vital role for the development of the country. He said that government wanted to see supremacy of the parliament and independence of the judiciary.

Prime minister said that minorities have also been given equal rights to practice their religions with freedom.

He further said that provincial autonomy have been given to provinces under 18th constitutional amendment, adding that federation has handed over health sector to provinces.

He assured that unannounced loadshedding would end soon.
