ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said that the situation in Karachi would not be allowed to get worse and directed to take action against criminal elements without any political discrimination.
According to the Presidential spokesman, a high-level meeting jointly chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was held in presidency.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, members of Sindh Cabinet, members of ANP, PML-Q, PML-F and NPP attended the meeting.
Spokesman said that the meeting discussed the law and order situation in Karachi and also reviewed advices to avert violence in the metropolis.
Addressing the meeting, President Zardari directed to make consultations with all stakeholders useful and conclusive. He also directed CM Sindh to enhance the capability of Law Enforcement Agencies and provide modern weapons to Police.
