Cotton crops valued R77b washed away in Sindh rain floods KARACHI: The devastating rain flood in Sindh has among other things severely hit the standing cotton crops, Geo News reported.

Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association’s executive member, Ehsanul Huque told Geo News that cotton crop estimated at 2.2 million bales worth Rs77 billion has been washed away in the torrential rain spell that caused devastating floods.

Ehsanul Huque said that the textile mills this year would have to import cotton before time in a bid to meet this shortfall.
