SUKKUR: IG Sindh, Wajid Durrani said Saturday that the violence, which took place in Katti Pahari over the course of the last few days, was the act of the land mafia, Geo News reported. Speaking to the media at the Sukkur Police Headquarters, Durrani said the police had gained control of Katti Pahari and other troubled areas in Karachi. He said that 17 target killers had been arrested and they were being interrogated, while several individuals involved in arson attacks had been also arrested and ammunition had been recovered from them. In order to make the Sindh police stronger the President had announced a grant of Rs. 5 billion , Durrani said.
IG police said 10,000 individuals had been included in the police force and an increase of Rs 4,000 would be seen in the salaries of police officials.
